NCAS Amateur Sports Grants

Funder: North Carolina Amateur Sports (NCAS) Endowment Fund

Overview: The NCAS Endowment Fund was established within the Triangle Community Foundation in February 1988 with contributions from North Carolina Amateur Sports following the 1987 US Olympic Festival. Fifty percent of Festival proceeds went to the U.S. Olympic Committee; remaining profits were placed in permanent endowment to promote amateur athletics in North Carolina.

Eligible Applicants: Organizations and individuals

Funding Purpose: Any amateur sports project

Award Amount: Up to $5,000

Total Distributed: More than $1 million distributed to date

Recommendation: Organization recommends directing equipment, facility upgrades/enhancements, team travel, or event hosting requests to specific Youth Sports Grant funds rather than this general fund.
