Native Forward Direct Scholarship Grant

The Native Forward Direct Scholarship supports American Indian and Alaska Native students by providing mid-year funding opportunities to alleviate educational costs. With over 50 years of experience, Native Forward has empowered more than 22,000 students from diverse backgrounds. This scholarship recognizes the limited access these students face in higher education and aims to enhance their academic journeys while fostering community engagement and mentorship through a strong alumni network.

Throughout our 50-year history, Native Forward has empowered over 22,000 students from over 500 Tribes in all 50 states by providing scholarship dollars and support for services for undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees.
For more than 50 years, we have empowered Native leaders through national scholarship funding and student services to share their voices and strengthen their communities.
Native Forward offers the Direct Scholarship to allow students an opportunity to apply for mid-year funding to help alleviate educational costs to continue with their pursuit of higher education.

Eligibility

To be considered for Native Forward Direct Scholarship the applicant must meet the following requirements:Be enrolled full or part-time in a U.S. accredited institution.Be pursuing an undergraduate, graduate, or professional degree in any field of study.Demonstrate an unmet need through the completion of a financial need form.Applicants must not have been previously awarded a Native Forward scholarship for 2025-2026.Be an enrolled member or descendant of a federally or state-recognized Tribe.Provide proof of Tribal enrollment via a copy of their Certificate Degree of Indian Blood, Tribal membership card, OR a letter of enrollment/descendancy from the Tribal enrollment office.
