Overview

Mount 101: Summer Bridge Program

Overview: An optional two-week college acclimation program for first-year students, designed to help students transition from high school to college life at Mount St. Mary's University.

Program Dates: July 28 – August 14, 2025

What's Included:

6 credits of academic coursework (two three-credit classes)

One course on liberal arts and one quantitative course on problem-solving

Community building activities

Field trips (museum trips, urban scavenger hunts)

Peer mentoring

Early move-in to residence halls

Priority academic advising

First in line for certain on-campus jobs

Academic Components:

Small group interaction with professors

Introduction to research techniques

Test-taking strategies and tips for facing adversity

College skills (time management, budgeting)

Overview of academic resources and requirements

Faculty and staff introductions

Housing and Meals:

On-campus residence hall housing

All on-campus meals included and served in Patriot Dining Hall

Application and Registration

1. Registration: Mount 101 registration is open online
2. Access: Must be logged into MyMount to register
3. Financial Aid: Available for those who complete the 2024-25 FAFSA by June 30
- Note: This is separate from the 2025-26 FAFSA for fall semester
4. Cost: $1,600 total fee
- Includes: course instruction and fees, books/class materials, activities, lodging, and most meals
