  • All UNMC faculty, students, and staff are eligible

  • UNO researchers, faculty, and staff may also be eligible

    All invention types are considered, with emphasis on:

  • Inventions with potential benefits to the public good

  • Inventions with strong patent potential

  • Inventions with market potential

    1. Submit a New Invention Notification (NIN) Form
    - Complete the NIN form available on the UNeMed website
    - Submit the fully completed form to UNeMed

    2. Evaluation Process
    - All fully completed NIns submitted to UNeMed will be evaluated and considered
    - UNeMed staff will review submissions based on:
    - Potential benefits to the public good
    - Patent potential
    - Market potential

    3. Award Announcement
    - The award is announced and presented at the Innovation Awards ceremony (typically in October)
