Mon Valley Scholarship Fund Grant

The Mon Valley Scholarship Fund, established by The Pittsburgh Foundation, offers vital scholarship opportunities for students residing in the Mon Valley region of Pittsburgh. Scholarships are available for high school seniors, undergraduates, and graduate students pursuing various forms of education, including community colleges and technical schools. This initiative aims to empower local students to achieve their academic goals and foster community growth.

The Pittsburgh Foundation
The Foundation currently manages about 2,500 individual donor funds and, together with its supporting organizations and its affiliate, The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County, has assets of $1.386 billion (2022). Grantmaking benefits a broad spectrum of basic needs and development opportunities within Pittsburgh and beyond.
Scholarships
The Pittsburgh Foundation and The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County provide scholarship opportunities for local students to pursue their educational goals. Scholarships are available for graduating high school seniors, undergraduates, graduate, medical and professional school students who are attending community colleges, four-year universities and career/technical schools.
The Mon Valley Scholarship Fund was created at The Pittsburgh Foundation to provide scholarships for students living in the Mon Valley region of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Eligibility

Reside in the Mon Valley region of Pittsburgh (specifically Braddock, Braddock Hills, Chalfant, Clairton, Dravosburg, Duquesne, East McKeesport, East Pittsburgh, Elizabeth Borough, Elizabeth Township, Forest Hills, Forward, Glassport, Homestead, Jefferson Hills, Liberty, Lincoln, McKeesport, Monroeville, Munhall, North Braddock, North Versailles, Penn Hills, Pitcairn, Port Vue, Rankin, South Versailles, Swissvale, Turtle Creek, Versailles, Wall, West Elizabeth, West Homestead, West Mifflin, Whitaker, White Oak, Wilkins, or Wilmerding). Demonstrate financial need. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Plan to attend an accredited vocational or technical trade school OR 2- or 4-year college or university.
