Program Overview

Variety helps children living with special needs gain mobility, confidence, and freedom by providing personalized mobility equipment.

Equipment Provided

Variety provides funding for:

Adaptive bicycles (specialized bikes)

Gait trainers

Mobile standers

Specialized strollers

Other mobility equipment

Eligibility

• Children living with special needs who would greatly benefit from specialized mobility equipment
• Families in need (equipment is cost-prohibitive and rarely covered by insurance)
• Identified through collaboration with physical therapists throughout Iowa

Benefits

Mobility equipment provides both physical and therapeutic benefits, including:

Building motor skills

Building muscle strength and stability

Keeping children healthy and active

Increasing confidence and independence in community participation

To Apply:
1. Complete the Mobility Application (PDF)
2. Submit completed application to: mobility@varietyiowa.com

Variety works with physical therapists throughout the state to identify children who would benefit from equipment.
