  • Students of African American, Hispanic American, Asian American or Native American origin

  • Planning to become teachers at preschool, elementary or high school level

  • Award Details:

  • Up to $5,000 per year in scholarship assistance

  • Recipients must fulfill teaching commitment

  • Teaching commitment: teach full-time for one year for each year of scholarship assistance received

  • Teaching must occur at school where at least 30 percent of enrolled students are minority students

  • If teaching commitment is not fulfilled, scholarship converts to a loan
