Amount: Up to $250 per grant

Mission: Arts Alive seeks to boost emerging artists and creative businesses, especially those experiencing financial hardship, in their professional and creative endeavors.

Eligible Applicants

• Individual artists
• Creative businesses
• Emerging artists encouraged to apply
• Artists experiencing financial hardship prioritized

Funding Goals

Grants support one or both of the following:
• Artists develop their craft by getting time, equipment, or other support to bring their ideas or creative practice to "the next level"
• Wider community or specific groups have increased access to meaningful arts experiences

Eligible Uses

Funds can cover a wide range of costs, including:
• Travel expenses
• Renting a space
• Website building
• Purchasing or renting equipment or materials
• Child or family care
• Attending a class or workshop
• Marketing a project, workshop, album, or event
• Studio renovation
• Festival application fees
• Documentation of work
• Community event expenses
• Public art installation fees
• Hiring a creative collaborator
• Other creative project support

Application Process

• Applications open in the fall
• A jury of local arts leaders and past grantees reviews applications in early December
• Grants distributed in December
