Background The Mid-Missouri Solid Waste Management District is one of twenty districts throughout the state created to assist the public, private, individual, and non-profit sectors in reducing waste. Waste reduction is accomplished through grants, sponsorships, waste audits, collection events, education, and research. MMSWMD includes Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Cooper, Cole, Howard, Moniteau, and Osage counties. Purpose The purpose of the District grant program is to provide financial assistance to cities, counties, non-profits, businesses, schools, and individuals, which will: Develop new or improved programs that will reduce the generation of solid waste, orCreate new markets or improve existing markets for recovered materials, orImprove the handling of items banned by Missouri law from landfills Small Project Grant Up to $10,000; minimum 20% match required. Applicant may apply for more than one small grant per cycle.Eligibility
