Program Background:
Established in honor of Chef Michael Ginor (1965-2022), an award-winning chef, writer, restaurateur, and co-founder of Hudson Valley Foie Gras. Ginor was a longtime supporter of Hawaii Food & Wine Festival since its inception in 2011 and was known for his culinary diplomacy work. The $100,000 endowment will ensure his contributions to the culinary world are remembered through educational opportunities for Hawaii's next generation of culinary professionals.

Fundraising:
Initial fundraising through tribute dinner "Tribute Dinner Honoring Michael Ginor: Foie, Duck & More" held April 7, 2023 at Halekulani, headlined by chefs Vikram Garg, Susur Lee, Lenny Messina, Christian Testa, and Roy Yamaguchi. Tickets were $500 per person or $5,000 per table. All proceeds donated to scholarship fund.

Organization Background:
HACA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2011. Parent organization of Hawaii Food & Wine Festival and Hashi Media. Mission is to attract national and international attention for Hawaii's culinary talent and locally grown products.
