About Us Waldorf education's overarching goal is to provide young people the basis with which to develop into free, moral and integrated individuals and to aid every child in the unfolding of his or her unique destiny. The Michael Foundation supports AWSNA approved training centers, programs, and individuals working toward this goal. Mission The mission of The Michael Foundation is to foster, to promote and to support the advancement of quality Waldorf Education in North America (Canada, Mexico, USA.) Michael Foundation Grant The foundation was created and funded through the generosity and good will of The Hon. and Mrs. L. Barron Hill. We typically receive over 25 requests annually. Grants will generally be in amounts of $2,000 to $6,000, with occasional grants being made in the $10,000 range.

Waldorf schools and Teacher Training Centers are expected to hold “Full Member” status in AWSNA/WECAN.We wish to support Waldorf Education in furthering DEI practices in education and in life experiences.We welcome grant requests from individuals. There is a page for individuals to use which is specifically created for your use in creating and submitting the request.Training Centers:Waldorf Teacher Training Centers applying for a grant are to hold “Full Member” status in AWSNA/WECANOur grants to institutions are primarily intended to support Waldorf Teacher Training programs, Eurythmy training,  Arts & Crafts, etc.​We prefer to help individuals who have completed their first year of training and ask that our funds be designated as grants for students most in need​If not already on file, include a statement of the organization’s non-discriminatory policies regarding hiring/admissions and proof of 501(c)(3)Schools:Please verify your school is “not for profit” and holds AWSNA/WECAN full membership status.​Teacher training is a priority; however, schools can also apply for aid for special projects. Include a statement of non-discriminatory policies regarding hiring and admissions. You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member.

Ineligibility

We do not fund Charter Schools.Capital Expense projects are generally beyond our funding ability.
