Since 1964, the Area Foundation has distributed millions in grants and scholarships to educate youth, preserve the environment, protect animals, fund research and provide services that enhance the quality of life for people living in and around San Antonio. Who Can Apply:Current High School Senior furthering their education Application Criteria:Must be a graduating high school senior in Texas Must be a Texas resident and U.S. citizen Studied and demonstrated a strong background in science Have performed community service Have demonstrated excellent moral character and are a member of the Judeo-Christian faith Attend a college in the U.S. Will study a career in the healthcare field Be unable to attend college without financial assistance Renewable Criteria:Cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale Full-time enrollment Major in physics, math, astronomy, medical research, chemistry, biochemistry (and other scientific and/or technical fields), linguistics, music, or agricultural research Continuous enrollment in any accredited U.S. college, university, or technical/vocational school
