Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds Grant

The Meyerhoff Family Charitable Funds focus on supporting organizations that enhance the quality of life in Baltimore City and the local Jewish community. They provide various forms of funding, including operating and programmatic support, while emphasizing the importance of sustaining middle neighborhoods. Their grantmaking process involves a Letter of Inquiry, followed by a potential full application, ensuring careful consideration of each proposal. Note that they do not accept unsolicited applications.

NOTE: Because of the particular focus and approach of our grantmaking, we do not accept unsolicited Letters of Inquiry or Grant Applications. Striving to fulfill the Jewish commitment to tzedakah, we choose to fund organizations working to sustain middle neighborhoods and the fabric of life in Baltimore City, and the Jewish community locally and in Israel.
Outstanding Jewish institutions, cultural and educational organizations, libraries, green spaces, and diverse neighborhoods, are Baltimore’s greatest strengths. To build on and complement these assets, we work to anchor middle neighborhoods and support the Jewish community through our grantmaking.
We are also mindful of our responsibility to help support those striving to move out of poverty by funding organizations that provide assistance to Baltimore residents.
The application process begins with our staff requesting a Letter of Inquiry (LOI). After review of the LOI, our grantmaking committee may request a full Grant Application. If a Grant Application is approved, you will receive a formal Grant Award Letter and Grant Agreement.

Eligibility

We provide the following types of support to 501(c)3 organizations or Israel Amutas:general operating support,programmatic support,capital funding for projects bearing the Meyerhoff name,capacity building, andchallenge grants.

Ineligibility

Our grants do not exceed 10% of an organization’s total annual operating budget.We do not provide grants for: individuals,deficit financing,galas, special events, or advertising space in event programs,health related initiatives,Jewish and non-Jewish national initiatives, and/orpolitical activities.
