Overview

Mental health screenings, assessments, and referrals for diagnostic assessment and/or treatment for children within the child welfare and juvenile justice populations The Minnesota Department of Human Services, through its Behavioral Health Administration (STATE), is seeking Applications from Minnesota counties  and tribal nations (both also referred to as “Applicant”), to provide mental health screenings, assessments, and referrals for diagnostic assessment and/or treatment for children within the child welfare and juvenile justice populations (prioritizing funds for uninsured and underinsured children). These services are operated in accordance with Minnesota Statutes, section 245.4889, subd. 1(b)(7). The grant follows an annual cycle where COUNTIES and TRIBAL NATIONS submit screening data each March from the previous year's activities. A request for application is being issued for the next funding cycle, and funding will become available on January 1st. For example, for this funding cycle, 2024 screening data would have been collected in March 2025, a request for application is issued in the fall of 2025, and funds available starting January 1, 2026. Contract amounts are fixed for the entire funding period and cannot be increased under any circumstances.
