Medical Center Auxiliary Teen Scholarship Award

Funder: The Medical Center Auxiliary (Northeast Georgia Medical Center)

Annual scholarship award given to teen volunteers who have demonstrated exceptional service and commitment to Northeast Georgia Medical Center's volunteer program.

Eligibility:

• Must be a teen volunteer with Northeast Georgia Medical Center
• Selection based on service hours, dedication, and demonstrated commitment
• High school graduates accepted
• Must meet volunteer hour requirements

Focus Area:

• Support for high school graduates pursuing higher education
• Recognition of teen volunteer service

Award Details:

• Award amount: $500-$700 per recipient
• Typically one to two scholarships awarded annually
• Recipients have served 300+ hours as volunteers

Selection Process:

• Selected by The Medical Center Auxiliary board members
• Recognition based on volunteer service contributions
• Awards presented at annual Teen Volunteer Awards Ceremony

Examples of Recipients:

• Helly Patel (2014): $500 award, 300+ volunteer hours, graduated Gainesville High School, enrolled at Georgia Technical Institute for biochemistry
• Connor Grady (2015): $700 award, 300+ volunteer hours, graduated Johnson High School, attended University of Georgia for Biology/Pre-Med
• Betty Huynh (2015): $700 award, 400+ volunteer hours, graduated Gainesville High School, attended Georgia Gwinnett College for Nursing
