Mecu Foundation Grant

The Mecu Foundation Grant, established in 2009, aims to enhance financial education and literacy within the Baltimore community. It supports 501(c)(3) organizations that align with its mission, offering small grants to those dedicated to improving community welfare. Notable beneficiaries include Baltimore City Schools and various non-profits focused on educational initiatives. The foundation emphasizes the importance of community engagement and is a proud supporter of over 50 charitable organizations, fostering a culture of financial literacy and empowerment.

MECU Credit Union was founded to improve the quality of life in the communities where our members live.
Upon the recommendation of former MECU Chairman, Herman Williams, the MECU Charity Cup Golf Tournament was launched in 2005 at Mount Pleasant Golf Course as a way to generate support and financial resources for organizations that champion education and financial literacy.
The MECU Foundation was established in 2009 as a 501 C (3) as the charitable arm of MECU Credit Union.
Who We Serve
The MECU Foundation provides small dollar grants to 501 C (3) organizations that serve to improve the financial education and literacy of the Baltimore community.
Community Grants
Serving our community with pride and gratitude. Supporting over 50 charitable organizations in our time, some of our non-profit donation recipients include Baltimore City Schools, Black Writers Guild, Donors Choose, Transforming Lives, and United Efforts.

Eligibility

To qualify, an organization must be a 501(c) 3 corporation, and registered and in good standing with the State of Maryland. The organization must also be located in the cities or counties in which MECU Credit Union operates, have been in existence for two or more years, and have an alignment of mission with the MECU Foundation.
