Maxine Sprague Lahti Foundation for the Performing Arts Grant (Michigan)

The Maxine Sprague Lahti Foundation for the Performing Arts Grant supports organizations and individuals in Monroe County, Michigan, to enhance performing arts. The foundation prioritizes projects that provide year-round programming, reflect social missions, address community needs, and benefit underserved populations. Eligible applicants must be established for at least one year and demonstrate a public performance. The foundation does not support general operating costs, pilot programs, or for-profit entities.

The Maxine Sprague Lahti Foundation for the Performing Arts is focused solely on support of organizations and individuals in the following communities, with the intent to provide a source of additional support for the performing amateur arts in Monroe County:

• City of Monroe or Monroe TownshipRaisinville TownshipFrenchtown Township
• Our Committee supports projects and programs that:
• Support year-round programming
• Provide direct services to individuals and reflect the core social mission of the organization
• Address a need in the community for which there is a demonstrated demand
• Have broad impact or benefit underserved populations
• Have measurable outcomes, a plan for documenting results, and long-term sustainability
• Have diversified income streams and demonstrate effective financial accountability
• Involve collaboration with other organizations

Complement rather than duplicate the work of other non-profit organizationsAre submitted from organizations that have 3 years of operation in full service to others. Also, the program or project for which you are applying needs to have at least one (1) complete year with a report showing the measurable impact available prior to applying

Eligibility

Qualified organizations must have been organized for at least one year prior to applying and have produced at least one public performance in the year prior to application. Does your organization have the necessary public charity status (tax-exempt under 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code)?
