Overview: A scholarship fund created in honor of Mrs. Mary Gibbs, a longtime community member and beloved figure in the Raising Men Lawn Care Service organization since 2016. The scholarship exists to honor her legacy of kindness and to support young people who demonstrate leadership, kindness, and commitment to serving their community.

Background: Mrs. Gibbs was one of the first individuals served by the organization when it began in 2016. What started as a simple act of mowing her lawn developed into a meaningful friendship. She became known affectionately as the founder's "adopted grandmother" and was featured in a viral photo in 2017 that received over 2 million likes. She passed away two years prior to the scholarship's creation.

Eligibility

• Must be a graduating senior
• Must have completed the 50 Yard Challenge
• Demonstrate leadership, kindness, and commitment to serving others in their community

Award Details

• Five $1,000 scholarships awarded annually
• As the fund grows, more scholarships will be available to support additional young leaders
