Community Grants

MCF Community Grants are evaluated based on their alignment with the mission of the MCF and awarded annually by November 1st. Grants are awarded in four focus areas: Education, Youth Development, Human Services, Recreation and Environment. In 2024, more than 50 local organizations (pictured above on the MCF Day of Giving) received a total of $1.2 million in MCF community grants.

Four Focus Areas

Grants are awarded to programs that have a significant impact on the greater Truckee community in four focus areas:

* Education - The MCF supports educational institutions that promote learning and intellectual development, and that make education more accessible and effective for all students.
* Youth Development - Organizations providing services and opportunities that enable young people to develop to their full potential are supported by the MCF.
* Human Services - Providing direct services to our neighbors in need is an important goal of the MCF. We support organizations that help people lead safe, healthy and productive lives.
* Recreation - The MCF recognizes that recreational opportunities are important to all and supports organizations that improve the number and quality of recreational options in the area.
