Scholarships Grand Haven Area Community Foundation scholarships are awarded competitively based on criteria set by donors. The Community Foundation has a rigorous internal selection process for each scholarship decision, and each applicant is reviewed in depth, and considered thoroughly. Our scholarship program is simple. You are able to apply once for all foundation scholarships you may be eligible for. Once your application is submitted, you will be eligible for all those for which you meet the requirement. Marjorie M. Hendricks Environmental Education Fund Established to honor the life of Marjorie Hendricks, a leading Grand Haven area environmentalist, who received her Nursing Degree in 1943 and worked as an operating room nurse and then later as a reporter. She returned to school to receive her Bachelor of Science in Geography in 1979. She helped found the local Environmental Action Council and played a pivotal role in the development of East End Park and led the referendum to save the north shore dunes from development. This award assists Tri-Cities area residents attending a college or university who is majoring in the field of environmental science.
