Mandy's Promise Scholarship Grant

The Mandy's Promise Scholarship, created by Robert and Patricia Schmidt, supports students pursuing veterinary medicine at public colleges in Michigan. Named after their beloved beagle, Mandy, this scholarship aims to nurture future veterinarians and technicians who will care for animals. Eligible applicants are those with financial need, who have attended a Michigan high school, and are enrolled in a veterinary program. This scholarship reflects the donors' commitment to animal welfare and education.

Grand Haven Area Community Foundation scholarships are awarded competitively based on criteria set by donors. These criteria could include financial need, the school the applicant is attending, academic achievement, as well as personal or career goals. The Community Foundation has a rigorous internal selection process for each scholarship decision, and each applicant is reviewed in depth, and considered thoroughly.
Our scholarship program is simple. You are able to apply once for all foundation scholarships you may be eligible for. Once your application is submitted, you will be eligible for all those for which you meet the requirement.
Mandy's Promise Scholarship Fund
Robert and Patricia Schmidt created this scholarship for students attending public colleges and universities in Michigan and pursuing a course of study in veterinary medicine. With an affinity for our furry friends, this fund is named after a cherished childhood beagle named Mandy who helped inspire a desire to help animals. Robert and Patricia want this scholarship to help produce future Doctors of Veterinary Medicine and Vet Technicians to care for animals.

Eligibility

Interest Area: Veterinary Medicine Financial Need: ConsiderationHigh School Senior Only: NoCriteria/Description: Awarded to a student pursuing a course of study in Veterinary Medicine (either a DVM or Technical Degree). Recipient must be attending a public Michigan college/university and must have attended a high school in Michigan. In addition to the application, you’ll have to submit the following documents:A copy of your high school or college transcriptAny additional required documents for specific scholarships (like recommendation letters).Page 1 of the Student Aid Report with your Student Aid Index (SAI) included on the form.
