Overview

The Madison Visionary Awards is an annual community-wide event and MVP's signature fundraiser to celebrate and honor outstanding individuals and organizations that contribute to making Madison a thriving community. The inaugural awards were held in 2023, with subsequent annual events in 2025 and 2026.

Award Categories

The awards recognize individuals and organizations in the following categories:

#### 1. Youth Volunteer of the Year
Honors a young individual demonstrating exceptional dedication to volunteer service in the Madison community.

2025 Winner: Marcus Butler (extensive volunteer work with multiple community organizations and 150+ hours volunteering at Madison Hospital)

#### 2. Community Volunteer of the Year
Recognizes an adult volunteer whose tireless work and contributions have significantly impacted the Madison community.

2025 Winner: Jim Chamberlain (president of Madison Greenways & Trails, conservationist, environmental preservation)

#### 3. Philanthropic Business of the Year / Philanthropic Businessperson of the Year
Honors a business leader or organization demonstrating commitment to community service and philanthropy.

2025 Winner: Bill Roark (founder of Starfish Holdings and Torch Technologies, leader of Torch in Action volunteer initiative)

#### 4. Madison Visionary of the Year (Highest Honor)
The pinnacle award recognizing someone with decades of civic involvement and significant contributions to the Madison community.

2025 Winner: Marc Jacobson (decades of civic involvement and leadership in volunteerism)

Eligibility

Nominee Requirements:
• Must live and/or work in the City of Madison
• Open to individuals and organizations
• Nominations accepted online only via MVP website

Selection Process

• Finalists selected by outside judges panel
• Finalists featured in Madison Living Magazine
• Winners announced at annual luncheon event

• Venue: SportsMed Club at Toyota Stadium (historical)
• Format: Luncheon celebration with recognition ceremony

Community Impact
