Mack Ness Fund Stanley Stone Special Grant

Geographic Scope: Negev region, Israel

Background: The Mack Ness Fund was established in 2005 through a unique bequest from Mack Ness, a Jewish farmer from New Jersey. The fund supports economic and demographic development of the Negev, particularly among young populations.

Focus Areas

This special grant supports:

• Innovative Solutions: Residents who research and design new, creative, and innovative solutions to social or economic problems unique to the Negev
• Collaborative Efforts: Solutions that involve collaborative efforts among organizations with a strong lead young individual
• Fundraising Connection: The developer must describe how efforts will be made to connect with and attract additional funders for their ideas and solutions

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicant Status: Must be a Negev resident
• Organization Association: Must be associated with an NGO or amuta (Israeli non-profit organization)
• Registration: All organizations applying must be registered amuta in Israel
• Governance Status: Must have Nihul Takin status with the Registrar of NGOs (Rasham HaAmutot)
• Award Structure: Funds are awarded to the organization for the benefit of the recipient

   • Do you plan to have partner organizations on this project?
   • Describe the current and proposed role of the partners
5. Timeline
   • What is the timeline of operation for this program?
6. Budget
   • What is the program's overall (full) budget?
   • What is the specific request from the Mack Ness Fund?
   • List potentially leveraged funds (if relevant)
   • List any other known or potential partners for funding
7. Organization Information
   • Organization name and address
   • Amuta status in Israel (with renewal date)

1. Recommendation Letters: No more than three letters of recommendation
2. Resume: Current resume with a short paragraph about yourself and your journey
3. Personal Statement: Explain why the problem you seek to address is important to you and your motivation for starting this initiative
