    Background on Loretta Parshall:
Loretta Parshall (1915-2011) was a first-generation immigrant who never completed high school but consistently emphasized the importance of good education to her six children and 38 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She embraced Subud practice at age 60 and remained an active practitioner for over 30 years until her death at age 92. Despite being an isolated member with limited access to community practice, she maintained her commitment to the spiritual path and her advocacy for education. The scholarship program honors her legacy of valuing education and spiritual development.
