Lineworker Scholarship
Funder: Freeborn Mower Electric Cooperative (FMEC)
Award Amount: Two (2) $1,000 scholarships awarded each year
Purpose: The scholarships are established to assist students pursuing post-secondary education in an electric lineworker program.
- Any applicant enrolling in a lineworker program
- Any applicant who can prove they are on a waiting list for the next open enrollment period
- Preference given to: FMEC members who reside in Freeborn and/or Mower Counties
Eligibility
- The application itself
- Essay question responses
- Ability of the student to maintain a 2.5 grade point average during the first term of college

The full scholarship amount will be disbursed directly to the school and applied to the student's account.About Lineworkers
Electrical lineworkers work for utility companies and electrical contractors to install, maintain, and restore overhead and underground electric lines. They work outdoors in all kinds of weather and are often called to restore power that severe weather conditions have severed.
