Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship (Dearborn County)

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship exists to raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana and to strengthen the ability of Indiana's community foundations to improve the quality of life of the state's residents. The Dearborn Community Foundation has awarded it to Dearborn County students graduating from high school since the program first ran in 1998, and may nominate one recipient plus alternates for a single full-tuition scholarship.

The award covers four years of full tuition plus required fees, together with a special allocation of up to $900 a year for required books and equipment, at any Indiana public or private college or university accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

The Endowment's hope is that the program will encourage many of Indiana's most talented students to study at an Indiana institution and then to consider careers in Indiana after graduation.

Donors and a donor's child, grandchild, great-grandchild, stepchild, brother, sister, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, or the spouse of any of those, are not eligible for assistance from a scholarship or educational grant fund for which they are the primary donor or for which the fund is named.
