Lillard-Shadow Scholarship
Funder: Volunteer Energy Cooperative (VEC)
Geographic Scope: VEC service area in Tennessee (Decatur, Meigs County, and surrounding counties). Four service districts: Jamestown, Crossville, Decatur, and Cleveland Service Districts.
Purpose: Rewards academic and community service achievements. Honors J.W. Lillard and Willis A. Shadow, two community leaders who spearheaded efforts to bring electric power to Decatur and Meigs County in the 1930s, founding the Meigs County Power Association (later Volunteer Energy Cooperative).

Application Process

- Judging criteria: community service (40%), writing skills (20%), financial need (25%), academic achievement (15%)
