Overview

Lewis County Community Foundation Grant Program

To be considered for a Lewis County Community Foundation grant, an applicant must be a private, nonprofit organization, tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or a public institution. The proposed project must benefit residents of Lewis County, WV.

Requests can be made for:

* Capital and Equipment: To support the renovation or construction of facilities, purchase of equipment, repairs to facilities.
* Program Development: To support the development of new services or programs designed to respond to unmet community needs and the expansion of existing programs to serve new audiences.
* Capacity Building: To support projects that provide an organization with technical assistance and/or training to be able to more effectively meet their mission and/or provide services.

Funding

* Up to $19,200 - through funds provided by the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation and matching donations from local citizens.
* For projects related to Lewis County Blueprint priorities, the maximum grant request amount is $5,200.
* Grants must align with the Lewis County Blueprint priorities:
* trails and greenways, development of a recreational center, development of affordable housing, addressing dilapidated structures, and supporting arts and culture.
* $1,000 - $3,000 - through funds provided by the Lewis County Community Foundation Grantmaking Fund and/or donor advised funds at the Parkersburg Area Community Foundation (PACF).
* Requests can be related to arts and culture, education, human services, recreation, community development, youth and family services, emergency services and public safety, and/or health.
