The Level 1 Fair Housing Grant, offered by the National Association of REALTORS®, supports initiatives aimed at educating REALTORS® on fair housing issues. Grants can fund classes, forums, or workshops, with a maximum award of $3,000. Starting in 2025, the grant will also support expenses related to the At Home With Diversity class to align with new training requirements. This initiative ensures REALTORS® have the resources to promote diversity and inclusion in their communities.Overview
The REALTOR® Party Since the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) hired its first lobbyist in 1973, America’s largest trade association has been working together to advance public policies and candidates that build strong communities, protect property interests and promote a vibrant business environment. In 2010-2011, NAR ramped up its efforts at the state and local levels by launching the REALTOR® Party Initiative. This included grants and tools to help state and local REALTOR® Associations run candidate and issue campaigns, and implement smart growth, housing opportunity and diversity programs, and much more. As the only advocacy group in America that fights exclusively for property ownership, real estate investment, and strong communities, the REALTOR® Party is not focused on a side of the aisle; it is focused on the issues that matter to existing and future property owners and the real estate industry. Level 1 Fair Housing Grant Level 1 Fair Housing grants support efforts to educate REALTORS® about fair housing topics. Activities may include a class or forum, a speaker who can address a fair housing issue, or a facilitated “book club” event. Starting in 2025, the Fair Housing grant can be used to support eligible expenses to conduct NAR’s At Home With Diversity class. This change ensures support option alignment with NAR’s new Fair Housing/Anti-Bias Training requirements for all members. If you previously used a Diversity & Inclusion grant to support this class, you may now apply for a Fair Housing grant to support the course. Additionally, the Fair Housing Grant will continue to support the Bias Override class. Details: Maximum award: $3,000Associations may receive one Level 1 grant per calendar year.Funds are disbursed using a reimbursement process.Grant recipients must complete an evaluation form for the supported activity.Eligibility
