LCMC Endowment Fund Grant Program

Purpose: To provide financial support to needy organizations and individuals for the improvement of quality healthcare delivery in Lake City.

Geographic Scope: Lake City area, Hinsdale County, and Mineral Counties (Colorado)

Supported Organizations:

Lake Fork Health Service District (Lake City Area Medical Center, Lake City Dental Clinic, Zeller Wellness and Education Center)

Silver Thread Public Health District (serving Hinsdale and Mineral Counties)

Hinsdale County Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Eligible Grant Recipients

• Lake Fork Health Service District - organization and employees for professional development
• Lake Fork Health Service District employees - for professional development, continuing education, and capability extension
• Hinsdale County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) - organization
• Silver Thread Public Health District - Lake City initiatives only
• Other Lake City healthcare tax-exempt organizations (as of 2017 expansion)

Medical equipment (dental scanner, vital signs monitors, otoscope replacements, suction devices)

EMS equipment and training (paramedic training, power stretcher batteries, pediatric CPR training)

Employee support (year-end bonuses, education grants)

Community health initiatives (Senior Connections funding, community AED battery)

Facility improvements (security camera system, conference center tables)

Background

The Endowment was founded in 1996 by civic-minded individuals to provide supplemental financial support to the Lake City Area Medical Center. Since inception in 1997, the Endowment has been highly efficient, with 97.7% of contributions going to clinic grant requests or the investment fund. In partnership with Lake Fork Health Service District, the Endowment has raised over $3.5 million. The organization expanded its scope in 2018 to include Silver Thread Public Health District and Hinsdale County EMS.
