Overview

Laurel Run Fund

Overview: One of The Resource Center funds managed by the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation. This fund supports community awareness, prevention services and employment and training for disabled individuals.

Event: Laurel Run occurs the third Saturday in July in Silver Creek.

Event Activities:

  • 8-kilometer run

  • 5-kilometer walk

  • Laurel's Lap (for anyone with a disability)
  • History: Laurel Run was created in 1997 by Wayne and Elaine Hotelling in honor of their oldest daughter, who had Down syndrome. Laurel Hotelling passed away in November 2017 at the age of 54.
