Geographic Scope: Kinest'e/Wailaki ancestral homelands - Northern Mendocino, Southern Humboldt, and Southwestern Trinity counties, California

• Language revitalization (Xo-kenesh/Wailaki language)
• Traditional knowledge systems and indigenous ways of knowing
• Ecological management and stewardship
• Indigenous foods, nutrition & medicine
• Traditional activities and cultural arts
• Spiritual roles and responsibilities
• Connection to Mother Earth and all relations
• Prevention, healing, recovery and balance
• Intergenerational wellness

Overview:
Indigenous ways of knowing and being respect the interconnectedness of all things. Reconnecting with traditional knowledge and spiritual roles and responsibilities strengthens community health. Whether through ecological management, Indigenous foods, nutrition & medicine, ancestral languages and traditional activities and arts, etc., connection to traditional lifeways strengthen the circle of prevention, healing, recovery and balance.

Organization Background:
Native Health in Native Hands is a native-led, native-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, created by Kinest'e people. NHNH promotes culturally responsive pathways for intergenerational wellness - reconnecting youth and community to roles and responsibilities to Mother Earth, all relations and one another.
