Landman Scholarship Trust (LST) Student Scholarships

Funder: Landman Scholarship Trust (Section 501(c)(3) trust under Texas law)

Geographic Scope: United States (limited to students in AAPL's accredited programs)

Purpose: Award cash scholarships to qualified and deserving undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in landwork and natural resources management

Scholarship Amount:

  • Eligible Institutions: Must be enrolled at colleges or universities that offer an active and accredited curriculum in Natural Resources Management or similar curriculum

    AAEL Accredited Programs include:

  • Undergraduate Programs (11): Colorado Mesa University, Marietta College, Texas Tech University, University of Texas Permian Basin, University of Tulsa, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, University of Oklahoma, University of Wyoming, West Virginia University, Western Colorado University

  • Graduate Programs (5): Oklahoma City University, Texas Christian University, Texas Tech University, University of Tulsa, University of Oklahoma
  • Eligible Use of Funds:

  • Qualifying tuition and other related education expenses as defined by IRS Code Section 117

  • NOT eligible: Room, board, travel, or other non-qualifying expenses

  • If student has no qualified tuition expenses due to other scholarships, all LST funds must be returned
  • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Undergraduate or graduate students

  • Enrolled in AAPL accredited program

  • Wish to further training in professional landwork, natural resources management, or associated occupations

  • Qualified and deserving candidates

  • AAPL Student Member (free memberships available to students at accredited programs)
  • Benefits of Accredited Program Enrollment:

  • Free AAPL student membership

  • Free AAPL education courses

  • Eligibility to apply for AAPL Outstanding Graduate Award
