  • Program Description: Rescue Village has developed an innovative collaborative behavioral health model that integrates clinical and shelter staff. Each animal maintains a detailed behavioral health chart accompanying medical records. Staff document objective behavioral observations, track individual progress, and provide behavioral information to adopters. Dogs with complex training needs can access GoodPup training scholarships at no cost.

    Background: In 2024, the Kenneth A. Scott Charitable Trust awarded $30,000 to fuel this pioneering behavioral health initiative. Early in 2025, the ASPCA contributed an additional $30,000 grant to enrich these efforts.
