Overview

Ken Haevernick OSSA Scholarship

Overview: OSSA scholarship is available to either graduating high school seniors or a person currently enrolled in a college or trade school full time (12 semester credits), either physically or online. Scholarships will be given to the winners regardless of other grants or scholarships that the students may receive.

  • Applicant or immediate family must be a paid member of Oregon State Snowmobile Association

  • Graduating high school seniors OR

  • Currently enrolled in college or trade school full time (12 semester credits), physically or online

  • Important Rules:

  • Students must use the scholarship within one year of receiving it

  • All scholarship checks will be written directly to the college, not to the student

  • Winner will be announced at the 2026 OSSA Convention (January 31, 2026)

  • Winner's application will be forwarded to ACSA Scholarship for consideration

    Application Process

    Required Documents:
    1. Completed application form (PDF or Word version available)
    2. Cover letter including:
    - Student ID number
    - College/trade school name
    - Address for scholarship check delivery
    3. Resume detailing:
    - Involvement in snowmobiling
    - Extra-curricular/volunteer activities
    4. Essay (subject specified on application form)

    Essay Format Requirements (MANDATORY):

  • Minimum of 2 pages – typed

  • Double-spaced

  • Font: Times New Roman

  • Font size: 12 point

  • Margins: 1 inch for all margins (top, bottom, left, right)

  • Page numbers (if included): 0.5 inch from top of page

  • Header allowed 1 inch from top of first page with double space before essay begins

  • NO bold-faced type or other special settings

  • If work is cited, add separate "works cited" page (does not count toward 2-page minimum)
