KCCU Scholarship

Overview:
The KCCU Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to students planning to attend or currently attending accredited Michigan colleges, universities, or state-supported community colleges for trades certification or degree programs. This is the 37th year of the program, which has awarded approximately $205,000 to local students since inception.

Award Information:

  • Award Amount: $2,000 per scholarship

  • Number of Awards: Ten (10) scholarships awarded annually

  • Payment: One-time payment for fall tuition (does not include books)

  • Geographic Scope: Michigan (accredited community colleges and universities within Michigan)
  • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a member of KCCU since February 1, 2026

  • Must be a 2026 high school graduate planning to attend a university, college, or trade school full-time in fall 2026

  • Must have a 3.0 GPA or above in high school

  • Must provide official high school transcripts

  • Must complete three Zogo financial literacy modules with 85% accuracy:

  • - Succeed at College
    - Make a Budget
    - Live on a Budget
  • Must submit screenshots of Certificates of Completion for all three modules

  • Must submit a typed essay (no AI use) answering the required question
  • Selection Criteria:
    Every qualified candidate is evaluated on demonstration of:

  • Citizenship

    Application Process

    Application Deadline: Sunday, April 12, 2026 (incomplete applications will not be considered)

    Part 1 - Applicant Information Submission:
    1. Complete contact information:
    - First and last name
    - Address (city, state, zip)
    - Phone number
    - Email address

    2. Provide education information:
    - High school attended
    - High school graduation year (2026)
    - Full name of high school counselor
    - Current GPA
    - Full name and location of college/university planned for fall 2026 semester

    3. List extracurricular activities:
    - At least 4 extracurricular activities participated in during high school

    4. Describe community involvement:
    - Detail all volunteer work during high school
    - Include organization names, volunteer activities performed, and hours volunteered for each organization

    5. Agree to terms:
    - Check acknowledgment of KCCU scholarship requirements, terms, and conditions
    - Grant permission to KCCU to use name, photographs, and/or videos for promotional or informational purposes
    - Provide signature

    Part 2 - Supporting Documentation Submission:
    1. Upload official high school transcripts
    2. Submit typed essay response (no AI use) answering this question:
    - "KCCU values leadership, integrity, and service. In what ways would this scholarship enable you to further develop these qualities and work toward your goals while continuing to serve others?"
    3. Upload screenshots of three Zogo modules showing:
    - Completion status
    - Minimum 85% accuracy achievement

  • Applicants must complete both Part 1 and Part 2
