Program Purpose: Assist attorneys and UT Law students impaired by depression or similar mental health conditions by providing funds to pay providers for treatment

Award Amount:

Maximum $2,500 for treatment rendered by licensed medical or mental health provider and/or medications
Additional funds up to $1,000 available if good cause is shown

Eligibility Requirements:

- Member of Austin Bar Association OR UT Law Student
- Work or reside in Travis County
- Have active Texas law license (for attorneys)
Medical Eligibility:
- Treatment for depression or similar mental health conditions
- Assistance available for inpatient or outpatient treatment

Funding Conditions:

Available only when other resources are not available
Benefits determined case-by-case
Recipients asked to make moral commitment to repay grant
In some circumstances, legal commitment to repay may be required (determined by agreement of all three Trustees)
