JuntoBox Feature Film Incubator

Award Type: Script development and production readiness program

Geographic Scope: United States

Program Duration: Four months

Participants Selected: 8-10 narrative feature film projects

Budget Requirements: Projects must be producible for $2.5 million or less

Eligibility:

  • Writers, directors, and/or producers

  • Must hold contractual rights to the feature-length screenplay

  • All genres welcome

    • What They Fund/Provide:

  • Professional script development workshops

  • One-on-one meetings with industry professionals including:

    • - Story analysts
    - Casting directors
    - Line producers
  • Culminating pitch session where JuntoBox Film executives will greenlight at least one project for financing and production

    • Program Details:

  • Co-chaired by Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker

  • JuntoBox is a collaborative film studio for filmmakers and fans

  • Program concludes with pitch session where selected projects receive greenlight for financing and production

  • Spearheaded by Kelly Thomas (former producer in residence for Film Independent's Artist Development programs)

    • Focus Areas: Narrative feature film development and production readiness

    • How to Apply

    Application Process

    1. Verify Eligibility: Confirm you are a writer, director, or producer with contractual rights to a feature-length screenplay
    2. Prepare Materials: Script and any required application materials
    3. Submit Application: Submit through JuntoBox Films/Film Independent application portal
    4. Selection: Film Independent selects 8-10 projects for the four-month program
    5. Program Participation: Attend workshops and one-on-one meetings over four months
    6. Final Pitch: Present project to JuntoBox Film executives at culminating pitch session
