Joseph Nurre Football Memorial Scholarship Grant

The Joseph Nurre Football Memorial Scholarship, offered by the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation, supports students from the Elk Grove Unified School District who have played football. This scholarship prioritizes full-time students with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and requires participation in school and community activities. An essay describing the importance of football is necessary. If no eligible football players apply, the scholarship may be awarded to a foster youth from the area.

The Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the college and career plans of students in the Elk Grove Unified School District area.
Scholarships are provided every year from the endowments and donations of community members, families, individuals, businesses, and community organizations.

Additional Qualifications:
Applicant must have played football;Essay required. Essay should describe why football is important to applicant;If there is no EGHS football player who meets the requirements of the Joseph Nurre Memorial Football Scholarship, the annual allocation will be given to a foster youth from any Elk Grove-area high school who applied for and was not awarded one of the existing foster youth scholarships. A committee of foster youth educators/social workers will select the recipient using the criteria that applies to the foster youth scholarships.
