Overview
JoAnn Shore Fund for Servant Leadership
Purpose: Support the next generation of leaders through the power of humanitarian work, in memory of JoAnn Shore, a Mobility Worldwide volunteer and late wife of longtime Advisor, Rev. Walter Hays.
Target Audience: Young adults ages 18-35 interested in exploring new cultures and being exposed to humanitarian work.
Geographic Scope: Primarily Sub-Saharan Africa, with plans to expand to Latin America and South/Southeast Asia.
- Age: 18-35 years old
- Citizenship: U.S. citizens or permanent residents
- Education: Pursuing or already holding a college degree
- Documentation: Valid passport at time of travel
- Endorsement: Must have a Mobility Worldwide Affiliate endorse their application
Eligibility Requirements
- Participants learn about Mobility Worldwide and global mobility issues
- Expected to deepen empathy and respect for others
- Exposure to different cultures, perspectives, and challenges
- Distribution trips typically last about 5 days in-country with 1-2 days travel on each end
- Typically no more than 6 JoAnn Shore Fund recipients per trip
- Trip attendees may also include Mobility Worldwide staff, volunteers, and supporters

- Destination: Zambia
- Dates: August 3-7, 2026
- Support Amount: $2,000 per recipient
- Participant Costs: Roundtrip airfare, plus vaccines and visas

Application Process
1. Complete Application Form: Fill out the JoAnn Shore Fund application

3. Endorsement: Obtain endorsement from a Mobility Worldwide Affiliate

Required Materials
- Mobility Worldwide will work with each recipient to ensure appropriate visa requirements
- Recipients will be provided a list of required vaccines
- Vaccines required for country entry are mandatory
