Jimmy Clemens Youth Ambassador Award

Geographic Scope: Central Ohio USBC members

Award Amount: $500 (one-time award deposited into SMART account)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Current member in good standing of Central Ohio USBC

  • Minimum 5 years participation in a certified youth bowling program

  • Demonstrated good sportsmanship (losing with grace, winning with dignity)

  • Team player with positive attitude

  • Respectful of rules and the game

  • Additional qualities: kind, helpful, supportive

    • Award Purpose:
    Recognizes youth bowlers who exemplify the values and dedication to bowling promotion that Jimmy Clemens embodied.

    Background:
    Named after Jimmy Clemens (1970s-present), a man of high integrity who:

  • Served on Greater Columbus Men's Bowling Association Board (1970)

  • Served on Greater Columbus Youth Bowling Association Board (1971+)

  • Supervised Central Ohio Youth Classic Traveling League (1973+)

  • President of GCYBA (1973)

  • Region 5 Director for Ohio State YBA

  • Ohio State Bowling Association Board Member

  • YABA In-State Instructor (trained 950+ coach instructors)

  • Charter member and President of Ohio Bowling Council

  • Two 300 games to his credit

  • Ohio Bowling Hall of Fame and Central Ohio USBC Hall of Fame member
