According to recent studies, approximately 50 percent of counties in the United States lack access to hearing care within a five-mile radius. The American Academy of Audiology Foundation’s Jill Botkin Hearing Health-Care Accessibility Scholarship of $5,000 will be awarded to one student who is committed to enhancing access to hearing-care services, especially in communities that lack geographic access to hearing care as evidenced by the student’s resume, rubric, and personal statement. Eligibility

The Jill Botkin Hearing Health-Care Accessibility Scholarship will be awarded to one full-time graduate student in audiology (AuD, PhD, AuD/PhD) in good standing at a U.S. university during the current academic year. Applicants must be in at least their second academic year of their program when the scholarship is awarded and cannot graduate in Spring/Summer of this year.Applicants must also acknowledge and agree to the individual scholarship program eligibility requirements they are applying to as well as the general AAA Foundation scholarship program policies.General AAA Foundation Scholarship Program Policies:Students must be a national SAA member at the time of application and at the time of award to be eligible for AAA Foundation scholarships.Unless otherwise noted, individual student scholarships are open to any AuD, PhD, or AuD/PhD student in audiology who will be enrolled at a U.S. university when the funds are awarded.Students are only eligible to receive one scholarship award per academic year (i.e., August through July annually), although they may apply for more than one scholarship. Students are only eligible to receive a specific scholarship one time, although they are eligible to receive a different scholarship in subsequent years. You must be a member of this organization to apply for this award - become a member.
