Background

This scholarship was established in December 2015 by Elaine Brophy in memory of her husband, Jere H. Brophy, who was a dedicated member of The Singers' Club of Cleveland for thirty years and served as President of the ARDEF Board of Trustees from 1997 to 2004.

Purpose

The primary purpose of the fund is to provide an annual scholarship named the "Jere H. Brophy Scholarship" to be awarded during the annual Mather Scholarship Competition conducted by The Singers' Club of Cleveland.

Allocation

If no suitable candidate is available to receive the scholarship in a given year, the money allocated may, at the discretion of the ARDEF Board of Trustees, be used for other charitable purposes within the scope of ARDEF.
