Jefferson Health Care Foundation Fund Grant

The Jefferson Health Care Foundation Fund aims to enhance healthcare and well-being for Jefferson County residents. With funding requests up to $100,000, projects focusing on major medical equipment purchases or capital improvements will be prioritized. The fund encourages innovation in addressing healthcare challenges, especially for low-income and underserved populations. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) charities and educational institutions, while proposals must directly benefit Jefferson County's health needs.

Grant Amount and Term
Funding requests up to $100,000 may be considered for projects that require major purchases of medical equipment or other capital improvements in order to succeed.
Areas of Focus
Funding priorities are intentionally broad so that applicants can exercise creativity and innovation in how they define and address healthcare and well-being issues for Jefferson County residents.
Please note: Special funding consideration will be given to projects that extend healthcare and well-being opportunities to low-income and under-served residents in Jefferson County.
Example projects may include those that:
Provide affordable and accessible healthcare (i.e. physical and mental health, dental and vision care)Address healthcare workforce shortages that impact access to careProvide assistance for residents without available or reliable transportation to medical appointments and healthcare facilitiesImprove poor “health literacy” which impacts patients’ ability to understand health information and instructionsProvide preventive services including early detection of health issuesAddress opioid drug addictionPurchase essential medical equipmentProvide residents with access to affordable, healthy food, and/or gardening suppliesIncrease residents’ well-being and comfort by providing warm clothing, air conditioners, and/or heatersPromote healthy behaviors and lifestylesProvide caregiver support

Eligibility

Eligible organizations must be a 501(c)(3) public charity, unit of government, or educational institution
New or emerging groups that do not have nonprofit status may apply if they have an established nonprofit organization as a fiscal sponsorAlthough proposals must directly relate to the healthcare and well-being needs of Jefferson County residents, organizations do not have to reside in Jefferson County in order to be eligible to apply.

Ineligibility

Grants to individuals. We are restricted by law and therefore unable to provide grants directly to individuals.
Projects that have explicit religious content, express a particular religious view, or advance a religious purpose
