Jeff Butler Scholarship

Overview: The MAASE Foundation awards two $1,000 scholarships in memory of Jeff Butler, supporting professional learning for new special education administrators.

Geographic Scope: Michigan

Focus Areas: Professional learning and development for early-career special education administrators

Eligibility:

  • MAASE members in their first or second year in their initial administrative role

  • Must embody key characteristics: ethics, leadership, collegiality, passion, civil rights advocacy, perseverance, service, and lifelong learning
  • Funding Source: Contributions to the Summer Institute raffle

    1. Submit an application demonstrating:
    - Need for funding and a plan for its use
    - Embodiment of key characteristics: ethics, leadership, collegiality, passion, civil rights advocacy, perseverance, service, and lifelong learning

    - Supervisor's support letter
    - Two letters of recommendation

    3. Recipients announced at the October General Membership Meeting
