James and Linda Ward Memorial Scholarship Fund Grant

The James and Linda Ward Memorial Scholarship Fund honors a dedicated physics teacher, Jim Ward, who inspired many students at Henninger High School. Established by his family, this scholarship aims to support students graduating from Henninger or Nottingham High School who have completed a physics course and plan to attend college. By providing financial assistance, it contributes to educational equity and empowers students to pursue their academic dreams.

Scholarships are an essential part of the CNYCF’s commitment to advancing equity and shared prosperity throughout our region. Our scholarships help to make continuing education affordable for students, giving them access to new opportunities that can change their lives.
A physics teacher at Henninger High School, Jim Ward was well known among his students and for his love of teaching. Jim’s family established this scholarship in his memory for students graduating from either Henninger or Nottingham High School.
Two scholarships are awarded on alternating years: one award is given to a student graduating from Henninger High School and one award is given to a student graduating from Nottingham High School.

Eligibility

Applicants must have successfully completed a course in physics and will be attending college.
