About Us The IAPA is a non-profit organization dedicated to the defense and promotion of freedom of the press and freedom of expression in the Americas. It is comprised of more than 1,300 publications in the Western Hemisphere and is headquartered in Miami, United States. Excellence in Journalism Contest The Inter American Press Association (IAPA) is calling for media and journalism professionals from North America, Latin America, the Caribbean and Spain to submit entries for the Awards for Excellence in Journalism. The call includes 14 categories, among them Sustainability and Digital Transformation, reflecting the challenges and advances of the sector. Eligibility

You can learn more about this opportunity by visiting the funder's website. The contest is open to content published in Spanish, English or Portuguese between June 1 and May 31, in newspapers, weeklies, magazines, news agencies, digital media, radio and television.Participation in the contest is open to all journalists and media, without the need to be members of the IAPA. The same work can only compete in a single category; otherwise, you will be disqualified.You can participate in up to three categories with different works.In serial works, only send the first and last works and three at your discretion.Only works published during specified timeline can compete.In the case of photography, caricature, or infographic, the works must be sent in any format available for images. In addition to the image, the submission must contain the page of the newspaper in which it was published.Contestants are recommended to consider the “weight” of the documents. Therefore we recommend that this is not more than 10 MB.

Ineligibility

Not journalistic Works (theses, dissertations, essays, books, etc.) will not be accepted.
