Pre-Proposal - This deadline represents when all potential applicants are required to submit a project eligibility determination to the Principal Program Manager of Strategic Investments. All applications must have this determination letter in order to submit an application.Full Proposal - This is when the application is due. Indianapolis Community Development Block Grant CDBG's primary goal is to “develop viable communities by providing decent housing and suitable living environments and expanding economic opportunities, principally for persons of low and moderate incomes.” This goal is carried out through a wide array of housing and social services including: Homeowner-occupied repair Public facility construction and rehabilitation Demolition of unsafe structures Employment training Summer youth programs Senior services The program helps tackle the city's most serious community challenges. Eligible activities under the CDBG program must meet one of the following criteria: Benefit low and moderate-income persons (most commonly used) Prevent or eliminate unsafe and hazardous structures or areas Community development needs having a particular urgency because existing conditions pose a serious and immediate threat to the health or welfare of the community Non-Housing The City of Indianapolis, Department of Metropolitan Development (DMD) is now accepting applications for community development projects to be funded by the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) in the program year.Eligibility
