Overview

PCORI will fund projects that aim to implement patient-centered CER results obtained from PCORI-funded research in real-world practice settings, and in selected cases, projects that focus on planning for implementation of these findings or on the dissemination of these findings. Implementation Projects Implementation projects may have budgets up to $2.5 million in total direct costs and project durations of up to 48 months. Applicants must have a well-articulated implementation or scale-up concept that describes how broad uptake of the evidence will occur and be able to describe how the work undertaken in the Implementation Planning Project supports this comprehensive plan.

Implementation Planning Projects may have budgets of up to $200,000 in total costs and project durations of up to 24 months. Applicants proposing implementation projects must have a Draft Final Research Report (DFRR) pertaining to the original PCORI-funded research award accepted for entry into PCORI’s peer-review process by the Letter of Intent (LOI) deadline for this opportunity. Applicants who are recipients of previous PCORI-funded implementation awards must have completed that award before submitting an LOI for a follow-on implementation project.Private SectorPublic SectorUS Organizations: Must be recognized by the U.S. Internal Revenue ServiceForeign Organizations and Nondomestic Components of US Organizations: Foreign organizations and nondomestic components of US organizations must provide a thorough and thoughtful justification for the research’s ability to benefit the US healthcare system and must show that the engagement plans include US patients and stakeholders and are relevant to the US healthcare system.
