IMPACT: Quality of Place: Community Assets - Parks, Fields, & Trails Grant Program

The IMPACT: Quality of Place Grant Program aims to enhance community well-being and promote civic pride through investment in parks, fields, and trails. By fostering recreational opportunities, the program seeks to combat declining physical activity and preventable health issues in Erie County. This initiative not only supports healthy lifestyles but also revitalizes neighborhoods and attracts tourism, ultimately benefiting local economies and enhancing the quality of life for residents.

To promote well-being, foster civic pride, drive tourism, and attract, retain, and mobilize creative talent and innovative businesses through cultural, heritage, service, and recreational organizations and projects. Currently, grant and endowment funds are at work for Lead Assets, Special Events, Community Assets, and Human Services.
Erie County health assessments continue to show a decline in physical activity and an increase in preventable illnesses such as heart disease and diabetes. Investment in parks, fields, and trails can encourage healthy lifestyles, move towards equitable distribution of park opportunities, and even attract athletic competitions which enhance local tourism. Additionally, an investment in parks can help rejuvinate neighborhoods and Main Streets throughout Erie County.
